Yixian Wu is Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, Head of Modern Macromolecular Engineering Department, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Beijing University of Chemical Technology. She is a Distinguished Yangtze River Scholar and a national candidate for the National Ten-Thousand Talents Program. Her research focuses on controlled cationic/coordination polymerization, synthetic rubber and functional polymers. She led breakthroughs in butyl rubber and rare earth rubber core technologies, breaking overseas monopoly and realizing ten-thousand-ton industrialization, ending China’s full dependence on imported butyl rubber. She presided over multiple national key projects, published over 160 papers and holds more than 140 domestic and international patents. As the first completer, she won two Second Prizes of National Technical Invention, as well as China Youth Science and Technology Award, China Young Women Scientist Award, and Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Innovation Award. She serves on editorial boards of many core journals and advances industrialization of elastomer materials via industry-university-research cooperation.
